THE FAMILY

Our Story

Over the past 10 years, Chandler Malone has been leading at the intersection of entrepreneurship, technology, and finance.

Chandler's journey began during his time at Washington University in St. Louis. At just 19 years old, he launched an events business that unexpectedly scaled to sell tens of thousands of tickets in its first year, booking top artists like The Chainsmokers. This early experience fueled his passion for entrepreneurship, leading him to found a social ticketing platform that grew to over 80,000 users and hosted more than 500 events before being acquired by an independent record label.

After selling his previous business, Chandler pivoted towards venture capital to sharpen his entrepreneurial skills and better understand what makes startups succeed and how to identify promising investments. While working in VC, Chandler noticed a persistent challenge: the traditional university pipeline is shrinking rapidly, but companies still struggled to find qualified talent. Motivated by this problem, Chandler launched Bootup—a platform initially focused on connecting people to tech focused bootcamps and job opportunities. Under his leadership, Bootup facilitated over 3,000 first-time tech job placements, generating over $250 million in annualized salaries for its users.

Chandler’s success as both a founder and investor has enabled him to build relationships across the tech and startup ecosystems. Through The Family he is actively investing in early-stage companies. His portfolio includes two of the world’s highest-valued Black-founded Web3 startups, one of the fastest growing educational games in the world, and a new company launched one of the most successful exited founders in the sector.

With his unique blend of entrepreneurial grit, venture capital experience, and a commitment to workforce innovation, Chandler aims to empower people to achieve economic mobility and help companies access the talent they need to thrive. Through his ventures, investments, and thought leadership, Chandler continues to shape the future of work—creating opportunities, fostering innovation, and ensuring that talent from all backgrounds can succeed in the tech-driven economy.
